Bring out the stretchy pants; Annapolis Restaurant Week is upon us. Throughout the last week of February, over 40 of the area’s finest restaurants are bringing hungry patrons three-course dinners and two-course lunches. Two of the city’s diners, Miss Shirley’s Café and Metropolitan Kitchen are offering a two-course breakfast.
When you visit the official Restaurant Week website, all the participating eateries are listed, with a link to their websites, menus, and what meal(s) they will be serving. Reservations are encouraged, and can be made for select restaurants through the main page.
The city of Annapolis has made transportation and parking hassles non-existent through the Park & Shop Program and the Circulator. The Park & Shop Program is a partnership of retailers and some parking garages for free parking vouchers. Many of the included restaurants are within comfortable walking distance of the garages. The Circulator is the trolley that circles downtown, with fifteen stops along the way, and will be free all week.
So, come hungry and leave full. Enjoy Restaurant Week!
Dates: February 25 – March 3
3-Course Dinner: $32.95
2-Course Lunch: $15.95

The summer season is just heating up in Annapolis. Two things come to mind whenever you mention summer fun in Annapolis, MD: delicious seafood and cruising on the water of the Chesapeake Bay.
While visiting the capitol of Maryland, you have to enjoy the world famous Chesapeake Bay Maryland Blue Crabs, and you also can’t miss your chance soak in some sun on the Chesapeake Bay. Today, I’m recommending some of my favorite seafood restaurants and water activities that you can enjoy while visiting the historic city of Annapolis.
Seafood Restaurants in Annapolis, MD
There are dozens of terrific seafood restaurants in Annapolis – no surprise there! – but today we’ve hand-selected a couple “best of the best” just for you. The first restaurant you must visit is O’Learys on Third Street. O’Learys brings a friendly, sophisticated ambiance to the table, not to mention an excellent menu of seafood specialties. The combination of freshness, a global selection and creative ingredients will give you one of the best seafood experiences you will ever have.
If you’re looking for something a little more downscale but no less exciting, head to the Boatyard Bar and Grill on Fourth Street. This locally owned joint features an ever-changing menu so the dish of the day is always the freshest catch. They also have daily specials ranging from local seafood to burgers and beyond. It’s a great place if you are looking to get a feel for the local area, the cuisine and our beer!
Both O’Learys and the Boatyard are within 5 miles of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Annapolis Hotel.
Tours and Cruises on the Chesapeake Bay
Now that you’ve had a local taste of Annapolis, it’s time to hit the Chesapeake Bay!
I absolutely recommend Watermark Cruises for a top-notch experience. They offer three types of Chesapeake Bay cruises for the kids and adults:
- 40-Minute Cruise – a scenic introduction to the Bay, Annapolis and the U.S. Naval Academy.
- 90-Minute Cruise – at over twice the length, the 90-minute cruise has time to delve deep into the treasure of the Chesapeake Bay. There are several options to choose from, and we recommend the 90-minute cruise to the Thomas Point Lighthouse. Always a guest favorite!
- Pirates of the Chesapeake Cruise – this one-hour adventure takes you into world of pirates as the costumed crew puts on an energetic theatrical performance. The kids even have a chance to join the crew. They’ll love it!
