New Year’s Annapolis is a family-friendly event that provides guests with a fun and safe environment for all ages to celebrate New Year’s Eve. As you can see, the event includes live musical entertainment and will feature TWO fireworks displays—an early show for families with young children and a traditional midnight spectacular to ring in 2016.

The Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, previously known as the EagleBank Bowl and the Congressional Bowl, kicks off for the eighth time on December 28, 2015 at 2:30pm at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. This year’s game, which features a matchup between the Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Athletic Conference, will pair the Navy Midshipmen (10-2) against the Pittsburgh Panthers (8-4).
The game benefits the United Service Organizations (USO), which provides critical support to deployed troops, military families, wounded warriors, and families of fallen soldiers. The Military Bowl serves as a premier regional with first-rate participants and seeks to generate widespread support for the USO. This year’s Military Bowl will be televised nationally on ESPN.
There are also several Military Bowl events happening this year, including the first ever Military Bowl 5K and a parade! At 8:15am, runners will line up at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and follow a 3-mile course into downtown Annapolis and back. At 9:00am, the parade will begin at the Annapolis City Dock and make its way up Main Street, around Church Circle, and down Rowe Boulevard en route to the stadium.

Annapolis, MD will host one of America’s most accomplished and beloved classical violinists live in concert in November. Experience the magic of Grammy nominated Jenny Oaks Baker’s artistry as never before at this local concert at Maryland Hall on Friday, November 7 where she will be performing with the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra.
The evening’s performance commences at 7:30pm and will feature live music from the world of film and rock and roll. The program includes movie favorites from The Wizard of Oz, The Mission and classic rock. This Casual Friday performance will also include a Q&A with Jenny after the concert.
Playing the violin since the age of four, Jenny began her solo orchestral debut in 1983 at the age of eight. Going on to receive her Master of Music degree from the renowned Juilliard School in New York City, Jenny has release 12 albums which have sold over a quarter of a million copies since 1998. She earned a Best Pop Instrumental Album Grammy nomination for her album “Wish Upon a Star: A Tribute to the Music of Walt Disney” at the 54th Grammy Awards. Her most recent CD, “Classic: The Rock Album” is topping Billboard charts.
Jenny Oaks Baker boasts live performances at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Library of Congress. Jenny’s music has been featured on the soundtracks of many films, including Mitch Davis’ new film where her music appears alongside The Killers. Jenny will make her acting debut in “Stuck”, to be released Fall of this year.
Jenny Oaks Baker’s November 7th concert is a benefit for “Our Daily Bread”, an employment center dedicated to improving the lives of people in need by providing resources to help them achieve self-sufficiency through employment.

November 15th and 16th is an exciting time in the Annapolis, Maryland area as hundreds of excited young athletes and their families travel to Centreville to take part in the 2014 Fall Brawl Lacrosse tournament. This year’s tournament is promoted by Matt Hogan and Hall of Fame coach of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, Dave Cottle. This year the competition will be heated as more than 100 teams of young men, age nine to 15 take the field.
Each team will compete in three games conducted in a round-robin format. Teams can choose to compete in age or grade-based divisions. Sponsors and Annapolis hotels expect record numbers of young athletes, their families and spectators to attend this year’s event. Fall Brawl Lacrosse tournament

The Annapolis, Maryland area lacrosse tournament will take place at Central Sod Farms at 920 John Brown Road, Centreville, MD on November 8th and 9th and November 15th and 16th. Players will have plenty of field time as each team will play (3) 60 minute running time games. Expo coordinators have partnered with Southern Wine and Spirits to bring the city the annual Annapolis Wine Expo. Held over one afternoon, over 100 varietals of wine – national and international – will be served to wine connoisseurs and newbies alike. Guests will move from station to station, tasting the wines and sampling light fare. Some of the afternoon’s events also include:
Tasting Seminars – Learn to swish, swirl and taste like a pro. Get an education on how to recognize flavors and aromas in many popular types of wine. Also, learn what wines are best paired with which foods.
Dining at the Chef’s Table – This event must be reserved in addition to the wine expo. Visit select restaurants throughout Annapolis for a multi-course, wine-paired menu.

Join the residents and visitors of Annapolis and beyond as we celebrate the sixth annual Maryland Day from March 22 – 24, 2013. Maryland Day is a statewide holiday honoring the formal founding of Maryland as a colony. The holiday is celebrated with a weekend of activities, events and fun for the whole family. As various museums across the city, there will be guest speakers, special kids’ activities and live music performances. Read along as we take you through some of the upcoming Maryland Day Celebration events.
Chesapeake Bay Foundation – The foundation will be leading a hands-on restoration and tour of the Oyster Restoration Center. Dress appropriately and assist in the construction of concrete reef balls that will serve as a habitat for critters such as oysters, fish, blue crabs and more.
MainStreets Annapolis Partnership/ City of Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission – The Annapolis Historic District will be hosting a scavenger hunt starting at City Hall. The hunt will put you on the lookout for historic and architectural items.
Maryland State House – Go on a behind the scenes tour of the newest exhibit in the Maryland State House. “The Enemy Nearly All Around Us” chronicles the war of 1812 and how the Maryland State Government was able to protect its citizens from attack.

Bring out the stretchy pants; Annapolis Restaurant Week is upon us. Throughout the last week of February, over 40 of the area’s finest restaurants are bringing hungry patrons three-course dinners and two-course lunches. Two of the city’s diners, Miss Shirley’s Café and Metropolitan Kitchen are offering a two-course breakfast.
When you visit the official Restaurant Week website, all the participating eateries are listed, with a link to their websites, menus, and what meal(s) they will be serving. Reservations are encouraged, and can be made for select restaurants through the main page.
The city of Annapolis has made transportation and parking hassles non-existent through the Park & Shop Program and the Circulator. The Park & Shop Program is a partnership of retailers and some parking garages for free parking vouchers. Many of the included restaurants are within comfortable walking distance of the garages. The Circulator is the trolley that circles downtown, with fifteen stops along the way, and will be free all week.
So, come hungry and leave full. Enjoy Restaurant Week!
